On Saturday the 27th April, MCF held its annual Murder Mystery with an 80’s twist inspired by the all-time classic movie – Footloose. 
Everyone dressed up for the occasion and embraced their inner 80’s child through neon clothing, dressing up as their favourite 80s idol from Madonna to the Blues Brothers, Top Gun and Axl Rose, or simply showing off their 80’s pop culture knowledge.
4月27日星期六，MCF举行了一年一度的“神秘谋杀案”晚会。此次晚会以80年代为背景，其灵感来自于历史悠久的经典歌舞电影—Footloose。参加晚会的来宾们都盛装出席，装扮成他们喜爱的80年代的偶像，从麦当娜，电影Top Gun, Blue Brothers 中的人物，到摇滚歌手Axl Rose（艾克索·罗斯）。人们通过亮丽的服饰来展现他们内心80年代的情怀，或者是表达他们对80年代Pop Culture（流行文化）的认知。
This year’s Murder Mystery performance followed the 80’s theme with an explosive performance from MCF volunteer Clare and her fellow professionals who acted out a high school prom going murderously wrong. The audience was gripped with anticipation throughout the evening with endless twists and turns. A brilliant element to the act this year was the interactive nature of the performance which led to questioning the audience and even getting everyone on their feet with a dance routine. Each table got a chance to guess who the murderer was and the lucky winners received a food and drink goodie basket with the beer being sponsored by Great Leap Brewery. The performance definitely got everybody in the 80’s spirit and without the hard work of our drama pros the night would have not been the same.
今年的神秘谋杀案表演遵循了80年代的主题。MCF志愿者Clare和她的专业团队们为大家呈现了一场精彩的,爆炸性的表演。他们表演的是一场高中毕业舞会，舞会中出现了谋杀案。整个晚上，观众都被各种预想所吸引，情节跌宕起伏,充满悬疑。今年演出的一个精彩元素是表演的互动性，包括对观众的提问，甚至让每个人都站起来表演舞蹈。每一桌都有一次机会猜测凶手是谁，幸运的获奖者获得了精致的食品饮料篮，其中的啤酒由Great Leap Brewery(大跃啤酒)赞助。这场演出让现场的每个人都充分感受到了80年代的精神。 而这一切都离不开我们戏剧专业人士们的辛勤努力.
MCF’s iconic raffle was back this year with once again wonderful prizes from a number of our sponsors. The raffle prizes were baskets grouped into themes ranging from the Date Night basket including a 2 night weekend stay in Deluxe at the Hilton Hotel, couples visit to Salt Space in Soho and more! Whilst the Debauchery basket contained over 1000 RMB worth of vouchers for local Beijing breweries and bars, Boxing Cat, Paddy O’Shea’s, Local and Jing A. Also, one of our Gold sponsors BlueStar AMG hosted an awesome free draw for an iPad which was hugely popular. On top of all of those prizes, we also held a silent auction for a 2 night stay in the executive suite at the Shangri-La Hotel in Tianjin for two people.

Throughout the evening, tables were embracing the 80’s fun and showing off their best footloose moves 
between murder mystery scenes. We also had fun choosing our two Best 80s Dress winners – Segolene, who wore a Madonna inspired outfit of white lace and Steven, whose get-up embraced ALL the colours of the decade! Both winners were awarded with 1000RMB voucher from TRB’s Hulu. But once the murderer had been revealed and the dessert had been served the dance floor really was on fire with the audience making the most of the music expertly spun by DJ Gerrybeatz, who provided the evening with top 80’s hits which got everybody cracking out their 80’s moves.
整个晚上大家都在尽情享受80年代文化的乐趣,在神秘谋杀案的不同场景中自由自在的切换。我们还很高兴地选出了两位80年代最佳着装奖:一位是Segolene，她穿着麦当娜风格的白色蕾丝套装;还有一位是Steven，他的服饰包含了80年代的所有色彩元素！两位获奖者都获得了由TRB Hulu餐厅提供的1000元礼券。当杀人犯被揭穿，最后一道甜品上过后，整个舞池被激动的观众们点燃。DJ Gerrybeatz为晚会提供了80年代的热门歌曲，大家随着他的音乐旋转,尽享80年代的舞步.
The event would have not happened if it wasn’t for MCF’s Programme Manager Lorna and our team of volunteers. Our MCF’ers helped with a range of tasks from setting up the event to selling raffle tickets. Paula as the MCF Raffle Guru expertly managed the raffle and presented prizes while Maddy and Amy spent the evening photographing the night’s action. Special mention goes to our Marketing Manager and the night’s host, Chad, who not only worked with local companies to bring the best prizes to our raffle, but also did an outstanding job of guiding us back to the eighties for a night of mystery, fun and dancing.

The event raised enough for 100 health checks and we wouldn’t have been able to raise such a huge amount without everyone that attended, our sponsors and partners of the event. A special mention has to go to our Gold sponsors GlobalCare and BlueStar who supported us in this event and helped make the evening so successful , but who also back us in our work week in, week out and we are supremely grateful for their ongoing support.
