Li Xiaoqing (since 2017)

Helen first met Li Xiaoqing in December 2017, when she became aware of her illness and how her family was struggling to cope with the financial burden of healthcare, on top of the emotional strain of their child’s battle for life. ( read more )

This five year old who suffers from cerebral palsy caught the attention of the founder of MCF, Helen Boyle, while she was visiting one of the MCF sponsored schools. Helen first noticed the young boy was being carried by his mother. ( read more )

Xiao Yun (since 2014)

Xiao Yun, a migrant school’s teacher, was diagnosed with Stage III breast cancer in 2014. She was supporting a young daughter and didn’t have the funds needed for her chemotherapy. MCF was able to support her family and her treatment. ( read more )

Facing discrimination in her village because she opts not to remarry after becoming a widow, she came to Beijing because she needed to earn money to pay for her son’s schooling.
