October Round Up

With a change in weather, a refresh in winter wardrobe was needed. A self-initiated clothes auction was a huge success raising funds for MCF. It was great fun to have a group of women come together, meet and chat while exchanging clothes in a sustainable way. Thanks!

This October there was another successful Rumble in the Jumble, and a sad goodbye to co-creator Helen who has shown continual support to MCF. The sale is a monthly highlight and great way to socialize and talk all things MCF.

MCFs’ Patience attended the Youth Leaders summit at BCIS. This was an opportunity to meet young people. Patience discussed personal development within a NGO environment and how MCF offer programs to allow young people to develop their leadership and team work skills.

This month alone, 157 MCF students received full medical health checks thanks to GlobalCare who work with MCF in order to keep an eye on students health. The generosity of our sponsors allows us to ensure students are receiving adequate health services. It allows them to flourish as young people and improve all other aspects of home and school life.

MCF Kid’s Clubs were thriving this month with the mix of Music and English that occurred in many classes. We even began street dancing lessons from the BWYA-MCF Kid’s Club. It is great to see  students express themselves in other ways and discover new talents and interests.

Paola began her lessons with Fan Fan. They are a fantastic duo and Fan Fan has impressed us all with his progress, always taking on all challenges put before him.
