The 15 – 18 year old music students from Dulwich College Beijing have been busy delivering classes to the kids at MCF which combine learning of English Language through developing a love for music.
The students from Dulwich have been blessed with the opportunity to travel to the school every week, and planning classes, preparing materials and delivering the lessons has been a fantastic opportunity for them. It is clear that the MCF kids enjoy the lessons, turning up in large numbers each Saturday morning (and the same kids each week are coming back, which is a good sign!). This week, they were very excited to receive their own numbered brand new recorders. So after learning English songs, including the meaning of the lyrics, they were able to start learning to play melodies too on a new instrument.
The Dulwich students have learned a great deal also – with good reflection time and a thorough de-brief at the end of the session, which informs their planning and best practice approach to the next session. Thanks MCF – both parties love this opportunity!
