This Saturday morning here at MCF many groups all across the city came in to teach, donate, and build. Liam and his Eagle scouts were the first groups on the site. Liam and his friends came into the school to help build bookcases, that they had fundraised for, as well as to donate the books and other resources they raised in their fundraisers. We were all so impressed by Liam diligence in organizing the fundraiser; he also took out his own time to build the bookcases, purchased with the money from his fundraiser, at 8:30. He even got all his friends involved and we had a great Saturday morning building bookcases for the children. Good job, Liam!
Groups from BSB ShunYi and Dulwich came in later on and taught the children colours in English through music. The hardworking students of both schools designed, drafted, and delivered their own lesson plans. We greatly appreciate their, and their teachers’, time and effort. The Canadian International School of Beijing also sent in volunteers to teach children English and how to read in English as well. We also brought in individual volunteers to interact with the children. Great job to all the volunteers and groups who participated on this Saturday.
