It’s been a little quiet at MCF due to Chinese New Year, but as winter turns to spring we’re pleased to tell you we’re back and busier than ever. Preparations for the new semester are well underway, and our diary is starting to fill up with exciting events.
First on our list was the British Club Beijing’s Mad Hatters Ball. We were very lucky to be invited, and even luckier to be the chosen charity. We were spoiled at the event with drinks on arrival, a four-course meal and free flow wine and beer. It was beautifully decorated, and true to theme with all things quintessentially British including teapots, scones with jam, Eton mess, and toad in the hole.
We enjoyed mingling with guests as we sold our raffle tickets, and we were blown away by the guests’ enthusiasm for the raffle tickets. Not one, but two couples, bought 1000 RMB’s worth of tickets! We raised an incredible 10,900 RMB and we’d like to thank everyone for their generosity – it really is appreciated. The money raised will go towards Li Xiaoqing, a little girl with cancer.
This was a wonderful event, and we would like to thank the British Club Beijing for putting on such an amazing event, and for their continued support of MCF. We look forward to updating you on the rest of our activities this semester.
